My husband roofs.. obviously.

He does commercial (silicone, tar, gravel... Etc.) and gets FILTHY! our regular detergent just doesn't do it for us.

What do y'all use to get your clothes clean? Should I throw some odo-ban or whatever it is in there?

They just smell so dirty still. I hate the thought of him waking up and putting on dirty smelling clothes in the morning.

I use a free and clear detergent and no softner or dryer sheets so that way no extra dirt is sticking to the clothes. They're obviously crusty and stained, he gets new shirts every so often, and we get goodwill pants and shorts when we go.

HELP 🤯 I just want my hubby comfy as much as possible in this AWFUL industry.

P.S. kudos to ALL the construction people, but especially those of you working outside or on sites that are 30-50⁰ hotter than it actually is.. the roof got to 126⁰ the other day and I was panicking at work about my husband drinking enough water.

Please stay hydrated 🙏🏻💟

Crazy that no one had recommended ammonia yet. I regularly get my clothes covered in oil based wood finishes, as well as hydraulic oil and grease when I work on my old backhoe, and ammonia cuts right through the grease and oil.

I use ammonia and detergent when they are really oily, otherwise it's oxyclean and detergent for just regular dirt and sweat.
