I consider myself a lover of all cuisines. Grew up poor in Buffalo eating Liverwurst, tripe, snails and gov't cheese. I hear "great Pad Thai" bandied about on here quite a bit as the Thai gold standard dish. What taste complexities am I missing as I only ever taste nothing but peanuts and rubbery egg? I feel like I'm missing out on something life changing for my taste buds, but it's one trick flavor wise. Am I missing something or is this dish overrated and too often used by some to demonstrate how worldly they are?
