Pulling the trigger on a Gaggia Classic - Advice?
Post Body

My CC1 died recently, and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a Gaggia Classic. I have two options: 1) a used one, about 5 months old, with a Auber PID with steam control (what does this add, by the way?), a Rancilio Silva steam wand, and an IMS Filtri precision shower screen (no idea what this does either) - $450. I've quizzed him about upkeep and he has been compulsively backflushing and cleaning, so it sounds like an essentially new machine. or 2) a refurb one from wholelattelove for 289.

I already have a Vario Grinder. So: 1) Which would you choose? 2) What's going to frustrate me with this machine?

Thanks!
