So this is my workaround. I couldn't find a good way to carry my info on each band around in my phone that's easily accessible, yet only provided the information about each act I personally pulled together during my research.
A lot of acts have minimal information out there for people like me who have never heard of them before. But I was able to get at least a *hometown and/or home base for each act. So with that as a common denominator, I decided I could map them all with a pin, then add the info in Google maps. But when I tried that, I would have had to insert all the information myself. I needed a way to pull the information from my spreadsheet into the map.
I found a site called BatchGeo that did all the information super easily. So I have added the map here, minus all my own information deleted because I probably love some of the bands you hate, and vice versa. And there's no reason this needs to turn into a lynching about why I'm not a GBV fan.
Now that I made the map, I can pull it up at any time on my phone and sort by day or search by rating, stage, or the name itself
*Please note: I'm aware that some towns may not be correct. In some of the more obscure acts, finding a place was speculation. While others are partial to both a home town and a current residence. I had to choose. I was not consistent, either. I went with what felt right. All information was gathered using official websites, wiki, RA, and interviews. So if there's a GLARING error, feel free to point it out. But the location is secondary, honestly, since this exercise was all about getting all the info easily accessible while on the go.
If I'm way overthinking this and there's a much easier way to have this info handy, let me know. If you already have an app for this, I'll be your best friend if you let my know what it is. If this is just dumb, well...that's okay. I enjoyed doing it.
