Hello everyone! I have seen a lot of discussion today about the execution. Some people say its OP, others say its not. But the one thing everyone seems to agree on is that the executioner pretty much just replaces the wizard.
The wizard is a 5 cost troop with a range of 5.5 that splash air and group. Its very good a dealing with swarms. Great for defending and supporting pushes.
Now the executioner is also a 5 cost troop with 5.0 range (throws his axe 7 tiles and reaches up to 8 tiles), and does splash damage to air and ground. Now all of this sounds just like the description of the wizard.
These two cards are too similar. Why release a card that we already have a card for? The wizard was already filling the role of defensive/offensive splash support troop. Now we have the executioner. They can accomplish pretty much the exact same tasks. And it seems as though the executioner might be a bit better then the wizard due to the mini knockback and the extra health that he has.
Why would people choose to use the wizard now that there is an option to use a slightly better card that fills the same role?
Releasing new cards should be about filling in holes / roles in the game that are not already filled. This adds a more dynamic gameplay experience with more customization deck options
/u/ClashRoyale Will you ever enlighten us about how you decide to make cards? I'm just curious as to why the executioner made it into the game when he clearly is just a replacement for cards that already exist, but you guys have several probably 50-100 card ideas that never make it close.
