The awesome thing about Civcraft 2.0 was that if you could read, you could understand how the world worked. Looking at playing 3.0, I don't even know where to begin.
The sidebar needs to be updated. A complete and accurate Factorymod config needs to be posted on the sidebar. I don't want to have to go searching through player reports of what produces what, how things are upgraded etc. Let me just see the data already. It's isn't in Chinese. I think if I had this, I'd be much happier. The same goes for Realisitc Biomes or whatever stands in for it these days. How do we choose where to live if we don't know how that choice will affect what can be produced? This game has grown ever more complicated than it was in 2.0, and honestly I felt that only about fifty of us really understood how to create industry then. What now?
Just what are the admins trying to accomplish? For all the AMAs I haven't seen much in the way to explain just what they were thinking with these changes.
Just today I've seen things that indicate the whole reinforcement system has been scrapped and remade from the ground up. No more reinforcing with stone, iron, and diamond? What does that accomplish except desolation and destruction? Seriously, what? I don't get it.
Why is the map so smallish? Reports have the total area of the shards to be a small fraction of the 2.0 map size. What will that do? How will civilizations be distinct if they're at each others' doorsteps?
I am sure there are other drastic changes I don't even know about. They all need an explanation of why, not just what.
A full understanding of why things are the way they are might help the players better predict what changes might be affected to better accomplish those goals as play develops.
