Passed by a vote of the People by 9-0 we have new dereliction laws going into effect immediately.
Dereliction Laws
Property that has shown no signs of improvement in at least 21 days shall be considered eligible for dereliction.
Those seeking dereliction of a property eligible for dereliction will:
Place a sign at the property with their in-game name, the current date, and the word “Dereliction”, with the sign being unreinforced or stone-reinforced, and accessible for removal by the public. The placed dereliction sign is not to be considered the property of anyone.
Make a post on the subreddit r/CivSPQR declaring intention of dereliction, with the post containing [Dereliction] in the title, the coordinates of the sign, the coordinates of the property, and a link to one or more screenshots of the property, showing relevant structures and the dereliction sign.
For 7 days after the post declaring intention of dereliction is made, any citizen may object to the dereliction by commenting on the post stating their objection, and their reason for it.
If the initiator of a dereliction believes an objection to their dereliction to be frivolous or unjustifiable, they may appeal to a magistrate to review the objection. A presiding magistrate will then vote to sustain or overrule said objection.
Objections made by the owner of the property which is having dereliction attempted upon cannot be overruled.
. The signs of dereliction will be removed within 7 days of a final decision.
*. If there is no valid objection within the 7 day waiting period, the property which was the subject of dereliction proceedings, along with the structures and items within, will become the property of the initiator.
*. If a property owner has maid a planned absence publicly known in discord or on r/civSPQR their property is exempt from potential dereliction for the remainder of that month.
