“On Thusday, August 18th 2022 at approximately 8:15pm, Vah and Ez2Clutch (previously “unaligned” and “Estalian” respectively), approached Icenia from the north. After ambushing Lagiacrus, they revealed that not only had Ez been freed by USA (Formerly Rhode Island), but he had joined them, as had Vah, and with this surprise they killed and pearled Lagiacrus at 8:35 pm. They kited his pearl back to USA, where it was immediately placed in the vault.

This suggests that the attack was premeditated and coordinated by the raider group known as USA, and executed by fighters they knew were least likely to prompt an immediate response from Icenia, as Vah has been buzzing the city very frequently, and Ez had been pearled for several days.

For the next 3 hours (from 8:30 to 11:30 pm) Vah, Ez2Clutch, Adderall, and RonPaul sieged the Icenian skybunker, which was defended repeatedly by Seared (Shotcalling), Shadno, DoomMad, Deserved, Ice_Otter, Jarl_Heisenberg, Gjum (noncombatant), and later Saren_Solaris.

Multiple attacks were repelled successfully, and failing to pierce the bunker they began obbybombing both the bunker and Icenia City, though most of the city was protected by city bastions. After that, they moved toward Kallos and began fighting there.

We were responding to the actions of USA on our citizens in the moment, and going forward we have no intentions of joining this war. This was simply our response to a raid on our nation's soil, and we will be focusing on enhancing our defenses to disincentivize subsequent raiding.

This morning Adderall and Ez2Clutch have been seen around the bunker once again. They busted it, and proceeded to glass Icenia.”

That’s the statement from the Icenian Senate, comprised entirely of new players to this genre, former NATO players, and old guard Icenians.

My personal statement is along the same lines.

USA: I’d be happy to give up my pearl and leave this game entirely if you stopped hitting Icenia for no reason, but I sincerely doubt you’d do anything except continue to fuck with Icenian players because Addie, Ez2clutch, Vah, and the lot of you get your rocks off by causing as much damage as you possibly can to not only cities, but this genre. You’d be much more at home on Geo, or any of the other PvP servers.

I’m very happy with the group that’s developed in Icenia. Near the end of Classics we were a stagnant nation losing our soul. So, I decided to try something entirely different. Rather than focusing on hard power, we’d focus on soft power and mic up over conflicts rather than find ourselves on a bridge again.

I truly think this policy bore fruit for a long time. Unfortunately, when you have a group of players with a fundamentally different feeling toward this genre, it stops working.

Icenia was entirely committed to remaining neutral in the present continuation of this now 4 year war. We cut off relations with Estalians, hopped in VC over the other times the zoomers decided to pay Icenia a visit, and didn’t join when Shadno was pearled for selling stuff in Estalia. Unfortunately, the rational actors have left the room, and the remaining nations on this server not involved are being left to grapple with the 5-6 of em’.

Icenia will rebuild and have peace. We always have. But this server won’t have peace until this group is banned (likely) or reigns over the ashes of a bunch of places like Icenia that truly had no desire to partake in their bullshit.
