Question about Dolby Atmos in Dolby digital plus

Post Body

Hi I have been on multiple Reddit forms and have read many articles online about Dolby Atmos. I have even read many articles that say you don't need a tv that supports Dolby Atmos you can get Dolby Atmos over Dolby digital plus. Yes I already know that won't be true Atmos but it is the closest thing I can probably get.

Set up: Vizio tv m558-g1 set to bitstream in audio settings ( my tv supports up to Dolby digital plus)

Chromecast with google tv audio settings set to manual and under supported audio formats I have click and turned on Dolby Atmos in Dolby digital plus ( which I think is the streaming version of Atmos)

Then I have a LG sp8ya connected through arc and a arc comparable HDMI cable.

Now when I watch Dolby Atmos shows on Disney plus and HBO max all I see on the LG soundbars screen is Dolby digital not Dolby Atmos. Should it say Atmos or Dolby digital because I am listening to Atmos over Dolby digital plus?

Am I really playing Dolby Atmos effects over Dolby digital plus or any form of Atmos?

I spoke with the same LG rep 2 times via char and he said no that I will never get atmos unless my tv supports Atmos. Is this true. Please let me know asap I want to watch my movies in the highest audio format possible.
