It's one of my deepest desires to rear a big, strong, healthy family in the Fear of the Lord. I, actually, never wanted to be a father until around 8 years ago or so, when I met a Greek, Orthodox Christian man who is a stay-at-home father of 6. I spent a summer with him and saw how incredibly awesome it can be raising a family, striving for them, working for them, sacrificing for them - it's essential. Human community if essential. Family is essential... Although I would love and serve my family in whatever capacity necessary, I, myself, don't think I would do very well as a stay-at-home dad, and am definitely seeking someone who would love and cherish the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom.
I'm a dedicated creative. I currently cook second shift at a hibachi place, and during the day I write and record music. I'm also a visual artist and have my B.A. in Art. The visual arts are big in my life, but music became my main focus a number of years ago.
I live in Iowa and it's alright here. I've been all around the U.S. and out of the country a few times, and it might surprise you to hear that my favorite place is California! I'm open to relocating, but my parents are getting on in their golden years, and I really want to be here for them as nature takes its course. I think American Culture has left elderly people behind, and it's really, really sad for so many reasons...
Denominationally, I'm currently somewhere between non-denominational and Orthodox. I was raised in the Catholic tradition from 8-18, so I don't really have a problem with that church either, but I'd say that theologically I line up more with the Orthodox. All that to say: at this point in my life, I'm not super concerned with denomination. A real relationship with the risen Lord based on experience is the only thing that matters at the end of the day.
I think that's enough for now! If compelled, go ahead and reach out! I'm not shy.
