I just adopted my little guy on Saturday and I had to take him to the vet. He freaked out in the carrier, and luckily my partner was driving so I took him out and let him sit next to me on my jacket and he relaxed.
When I took him out I realized he had peed all over himself out of stress/fear I’m assuming. The vet told me to wipe him down with baby wipes or just a soft cloth with warm water, which I have been trying to do but he’s not a fan of. He has been grooming himself a bit but his fur is still dirty and he smells very strongly of pee.
I know groomers can be pretty stressful and I don’t want to put him through that stress if it’s unnecessary. I also don’t want to bathe him and stress him out.
Should I just let him do his thing or is there something I can buy to help clean him a bit more?
