Can I switch out / plug and play powered subs in my trunk? (See post)

Car audio is pretty Greek to me so I really don’t know if this is possible. I have a JBL powered 12 (see links) installed in my car (2016 Lexus IS350 non-ML) right now and it’s just way too much, rattles like crazy with at least half of what I listen to. I want to step down to a powered 8 (again, see links).

My question is will I run into any issues swapping the 12 out for the 8. I know I’ll have to splice the wires for the 12 into the harness for the 8 but, beyond that, is anything else going to be an issue (different fuses, wire gauges, etc)?
