I'm currently a high school senior in Massachusetts and I will be graduating early in January. I had a medical condition last year that resulted in my grades dipping, and I have a 3.7 GPA (unweighted) and I got a 1150 SAT, but I am retaking it next month. I am applying to some local schools here, but really I want to look at schools in California.
I know that the California Community Colleges have TAG with the CSUs and most of the UCs, which sounds appealing to me. I am especially interested in CCP for CS. I have distant family in California that I know I could live with, and work while I go to CC, but is it worth going to CC in a different state and then transferring? My parents have money saved up, but they worry this is not very financially sound. Is this realistic? What would be a better alternative? Any guidance would be very appreciated!
For reference, I am leaning towards majoring in Computer Science, but I'm also very interested in Marketing (specifically Digital Marketing), which will probably be my minor. California seems like a great hub for both of these. I have internships and credits in CS courses.
