Hi, currently I'm a student at San Diego Mesa CC but was looking to try and transfer to Cal Poly in about two years as a psychology major. Any advice as to how I can improve my chances of getting accepted considering the transfer acceptance rate is pretty low?
My current goal is to maintain a 4.0, work/intern, be in a couple extracurricular activities, potentially play a sport, join my school's tutoring program, etc. I also wanted to join a couple honors classes but my counselor said Cal Poly doesn't consider those for transfer students and I don't wanna give myself an extreme workload for no significant payoff.
I have a meeting with the transfer department at Mesa on Monday so potentially my questions will be answered there but I was hoping to get insight from people who have actually already attended or are currently doing so. I want to get ahead of the curve as soon as possible for this kind of thing to absolutely maximize my chances as much as I can.
Lastly, does anyone think it would be worth transferring to Cuesta next year? I heard admissions tend to accept more students from there and would need to move at a similar time anyway, so I wouldn't mind doing so too much.
Sorry if people ask this kind of question a lot, I'm just antsy at the idea right now and was hoping to get some feedback to help quell my nerves. Thanks for the help!
