My partner (22) in various stressful situations will enter a freeze state that typically renders them glued to their phone for on average an hour, typically avoiding a decision or responsibility as a result. I personally do not mind the time taken more often than not, but she has communicated feeling stuck/unproductive during these times and wants to know steps to alleviate the stress and/or regulate through the freeze response. Sudden changes or deviations from daily plans are an example of things that can cause a freeze response for her and have her trapped in an activity, insecure of how to free herself from it.
So tl;dr my question is what tips/strategies are there to help transition/assist my partner through these freeze responses?
