So I'm using the zen labs app, which after a certain point starts giving goals in either time or miles. So for example, w6d3 says to run either 22 minutes without stopping or 2.25 miles. I run 5 mph so I can't do 2.25 mi in 22 min, so I have to choose whether I'm going for the time goal or the distance goal. Today, I freaking NAILED the distance goal, even though I was worried I wouldn't because we had guests this past week and last and it had been like a week since I did w6d2. Booyah!
Also this is the first time I noticed a really big change in my heart rate compared to the beginning. During w5d3, when they have you run 20 min, my HR was up into zones 4 and 5 for the last half, and then hitting zone 6 for the last 5 minutes. Today, though, my HR actually stayed in zone 3 until the first mile, zone 4 until just before the second mile, and I only hit zone 5 for the last quarter mile. And at that point I was like, fuck it, and turned the treadmill up to 6 mph for the last quarter mile. I felt like a powerhouse!
So if anyone else is using HR monitoring and frustrated with not seeing your HR improve, know that it took me til the end of week 6 to notice a big change.
