Right behind FIFA, the IOC is a dirty, money-based organization. The national organizations for bowling do not have the money to grease the wheels.
World weighted stars besides Belmonte, François Lavoie of Canada, Jesper Svensson of Sweden, etc. are not large enough of a pool to measure up to the larger pool of talent in the USA. Golf has become a world sport, but bowling hasn't yet, if ever.
The genesis of string pins is growing, especially with Bowlero here and the EU. It will destroy the controlled chaos of light, correct, or heavy pocket pins. Rotation, angle and oil pattern science is not luck, but strategy.
It needs a constant feed of young players to keep up with the game. It's sad, but I think 2028 will be the last stand to make bowling an Olympic sport.
Belmonte wants gold for Oz very badly, but he has fallen short multiple times.
Totally. The only place where money is made is the bar at centers. Seeing dark lanes in the summer is depressing.
You better get a mechanic that can fix any pinsetter/problem quick. If you want a good mechanic they are skilled but on call you gotta pay a LOT.
There is a very high turnover for counter help, bar staff, porters…high cost.
