I’m really bored with nothing to do because of no work, so I thought I’d take a stab at predicting what we might to in the off-season in terms of UFA signings. It’s far away but I’m bored and haven’t done one of these in a while.
Frankly I don’t think we do much if at all. Don’t see us resigning the likes of Domi or Kukan, nor do I see us big game hunting. Honestly though I think it’s the right course of action. What we need right now is time for our young guns to improve, get bigger, and become cohesive as a team, weaponizing our cap space and the fruits of their labor after two more years.
With that, I’d like to predict a few pieces (not necessarily by name) that I could see us going after that I wouldn’t hate.
1) The annual league minimum pickup from a foreign league (i.e. a Grigs, danforth, etc. type) 2) A physical but older RD to add size and experience (Stralman maybe?) on the 3rd D pairing 3) A SHORT TERM contract for a player that once showed promise but is now not very good (use your imagination on that one)
Just my ramblings, make of them what you will
