Went and donated plasma for the first time today and I thought it went well. Of course a bit of tiredness being it’s only been like 10 hours. But I feel fine and no real issues. No visible bruising either, however when I touch the forearm just below where the needle was injected there is some soreness when I touch that spot… or there was when I last checked an hour ago? As I’m checking now as writing this there is no soreness when touching it and I can squeeze my fist fully again as my fist when I’d squeeze was a bit soft up until now. Is a bit of forearm soreness and weakness in your squeeze normal in the hours after the donation?
The donation went very smoothly, only minor complications was I’ve lost some muscle mass in the last few years and as a result my veins have shrunk so when she tried to use the first vein she had to adjust it a few times and then pulled it and went to a different vein near it by elbow again and it worked better so that was the vein we used.
TLDR: is soreness in forearm of arm used normal in hours/day after plasma donation? Same for general grip strength being a bit lower in that arm?
