Newbie here - questions on using BitMinter & MacMiner

Hi all!
First I am a complete beginner and I almost have no idea what I'm doing. Anywho...
I downloaded MacMiner and signed up for a BitMinter account so I could connect the pool and start mining (and was successful in doing so). However, my MacMiner program says I have "3 Accepted", but my BitMinter account says I still have 0. It also shows that I'm not contributing at all on the Live Statistics page. Any idea what's going on?
