Brainstorming: How to add insertable attachments to my cage, or: how I learned to stop worrying and love the 100 character requirement
Post Body
Hi folks,
I want to convert my existing cage into a "Pichard cage" by adding articulating insertables to the back.
Here is my cage. It would be laid on its side with the door facing up. Occupant would get in from the top, and the "bottom" as seen in this picture would become the rear with the bars running horizontally.
I am looking for hardware to facilitate these attachments. One way I've seen it done is with a pair of 90 degree crossover clamps and short pipe between them giving them something to pivot on, like this. There are a few problems:
- My bars are running horizontally.
- The bars are welded to the frame. I don't have the ability to slide something over the bars. The hardware would need to open and then clamp closed like this.
- The bars on my cage are 0.75" OD. I can't find hinged clamps small enough to work with it.
Anyone have any other ideas short of buying or building a new cage?
Thanks!
