I have $150,000 in medical debt from just over a year ago. Have not communicated with collections. I'd like to file bankruptcy before I get sued and have wages garnished. I currently have $60,000 in home equity with my spouse, 40k of which is covered under homestead exemption in this state. So, I think I'll get to keep my home. My question is, do you think I'll be able to qualify for a loan for dental care after filing? I really doubt applying for credit right before a bankruptcy would look good in court, and I know I can pay for that, so I don't want it erased. After my income taxes, I'll have around 5k in urgently needed dental care. Currently, we make about 5k a month, and my credit score is around 550.
