Can I switch sour dough starter?

Post Body

I'm day 5 into my sourdough starter and I already broke half the rules. I used bleach AP flour because that's all I had and tap water which i didn't know I wasn't supposed to use and I don't measure anything because I figured people didn't have digital scales back in the day so why should I use one. But regardless it's pretty warm here in Memphis so despite that my starter was bubbling within 24 hrs and it's doing pretty well so far I guess. I recently bought some more sophisticated whole wheat flour and I wanna change my starter to whole wheat without starting all the way over to match the flour i intend on making my bread with. I think my starter is pretty virile but could switching from bleach ap to whole wheat in my next feeding harm my starter? Oh another question: Does the starter and bread even have to be the same type of flour?
