So we were supposed to do this fundraising event tonight for a group that we're part of. Said event took place in a bar, in a sketchy part of town, 35 minutes from our house, and ran 8:30pm to 1am, plus cleanup afterwards.
I'm around 12 weeks. Said group doesn't know I'm pregnant yet. I spent much of the afternoon nauseous, with an 18 month old that only napped 15 minutes today and at 7:30 tonight was still refusing to sleep. We've also got a packed day tomorrow.
My dad and sister are our usual sitters. They're both super sick right now, both commented to me on how they shouldn't have left the house today. My dad told me around 4 he was finally just going to take a nap. I told my husband I didn't want to ask them to do late night sitting, because they were both sick (and my dad probably would've said yes).
On short notice like that, our best bet is my other sister. She's also pregnant and has been going to bed a bit earlier. She agreed to do it, but neither one of is were super thrilled with the late end time, and i didn't want to take two cars (see "sketchy neighborhood" above). So I decided to stay back while my husband went to the event.
Guys ... my husband told everyone there that I didn't come because "she didn't want to find a babysitter", and "we have a busy weekend, and she didn't want to be out late". Which definitely makes it sound like I'm a loser who just bailed out for funsies.
No "and btw she's pregnant and not feeling good". No "she spent hours with a really cranky little one and is exhausted". No "our normal sitters are super duper sick right now". No "she had a list of errands to do today and didn't even make it to the first one, because that's the kind of day it was".
I might die right now.
