Post Body

Hey ladies. Just a quick one, because it's my due date and I don't have a baby yet, so I need something to fret about! Where I am I keep hearing all these horror stories about the health visitors. The one that my mum had for me only visited once. My neighbour only a few years ago didn't come after the first appointment for over a year. Lots of friends have said the same thing. If you look like you're handling things somewhat well they just forget about you.

Is this common? I mean, I don't want to be pestered all the time, and if I am managing I don't want support bring taken from folk who do need it, but I'm also really scared that I don't realise I'm doing something terrible to my baby because no one comes to check!

Have you had any experience with the health visitors?

Looking for someone to tell me I'm being a moron and once I've had the baby this will be the last thing on my mind lol

Edit: also, all these stories about them being horrible people. I'm sure they're not. They're just practical and doing their job and people are very emotional after a baby, but are they really that bad?
