I purchased at 2020 X5 in June 2023 as a used vehicle.

The installed map version is from 2019. I have a BMW AIR report which says that the car is entitled to map updates through the 2023-1 release. That report has a release code that it says is valid until Dec 31 2022.

I have not been able to get map to update. Initially I could not get the vehicle's software to update, either, but I finally got a dealer to do it so I do currently have the current software release. But the map is still from 2019.

Does anyone know how I can install a more current map database? Or can you recommend a website or other source that I can use to get help? The local dealer doesn't seem to be much help.

Frankly it's too bad that the car won't connect to my Wifi when it's in the garage and just update itself or tether itself to the phone... it gets some cellular data, but it's too bad that the integrated map is so much less powerful than Waze or Google maps on my cell phone.
