How far from the bedroom do you stay in scene?

So a little background: I met my partner a little over a month ago and it didn't take us long to realize that we both love indulging our kinky side. Everything has been so adventurous and exciting!

My question is, how do you ease in and out of your scenes? In the bedroom I am disciplinary Dom. My little pain slut gets punished with teasing and rewarded with bruises. But out of the bedroom, I am a nurturing Dom. I'm just never sure how to best switch from giving a great foot rub to roughing up my partner.
