Here's the idea I came up with:

What if we could extract a specific gene card from an Axie but in the process destroying it and thus burning it.

Card part can be attached to another Axie as piece of "equipment", effectively changing it's part card and ability while attached.

Results:

This will allow players to mix up the meta and try different stuff without having to buy brand new Axies, and give a use for the floor Axies - resulting in a reduced price for high end Axies and provide a variety in the meta and encourage people to collect multiple different parts at the same time.

End of the day - you are buying Axie's for their base type and could attached any part/card type to it. A player would be able to essentially collect a full play set of individual cards/parts and base type Axies instead of having to buy full Axie teams to play with.
