"Order!
Per standing order 174, A bill shall lapse if Parliament is prorogued before the bill has reached its final stage, but proceedings on the bill may be resumed in the next session, at the stage reached in the preceding session, if the house in which the bill originated agrees to the resumption of proceedings. There were four bills originating in the Senate which lapsed when parliament was prorogued at the end of last term:
SB2705 - End Drug Legalization (Drug Crimes) Bill 2023
SB2706 - Australia Day Bill 2023
SB2707 - Interactive Gambling Amendment (Ban on Gambling Advertisements) Bill 2023
SB2708 - Universal Opt-Out Organ Donation Bill 2023
The question is that the bills be restored to the notice paper at the stage reached in the preceding session.
Division Required
The Chamber shall now divide. Members are to vote only Aye, No or Abstain on each Bill, in order as presented on this post.
Voting shall end at 7PM AEST (UTC 10) 08/09/2023."
