Government politicians have condemned Commonwealth Party activist 12MaxWild's use of the racial slur "Mongoloid" to denigrate Foreign Affairs minister TheSensibleCentre on Twitter. In response to the Canberra MP's tweet that stated the Commonwealth Party believed "your child should die in Ukraine", 12MaxWild responded by saying "how about you read the fucking article where we said to not deploy troops you absolute Mongoloid".

After being called out by a Twitter user, the CPA member doubled down, tweeting "do you even know what mongoloid means? If you did you'd know there is literally zero racial connotation attached to it." After Prime Minister Gregor_The_Beggar said that "a senior Commonwealth Party member is using just straight up racial slurs to describe a member of this Government", 12MaxWild stated that the tweet was made by Commonwealth Times journalist Malcolm Tucker. The AAP has since confirmed the tweets were made from 12MaxWild's account.

Socialist Party politicians responded to 12MaxWild's statement with outrage, with Sydney MP model-trask condeming the "disgusting racist statements" and calling for him to apologise, and party leader TheSensibleCentre going further in calling for his resignation, and connecting the use of the slur to statements she had made in support of disabled children.

The Commonwealth Party has not directly addressed 12MaxWild's comments, however party leader buttsforpm responded to a tweet calling for 12MaxWild's resignation by asking if Socialist Party senator model-putrid would be condemned and called to resign for statements she had made on Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai.

The term "Mongoloid" has been widely recognised as a racial slur. Mongolian activist Uuganaa Ramsay noted the term "Mongoloid" was connected to racist pseudo-science relating to those with Down syndrome, with the term 'Mongolian Idiot' coined in 1866 to describe those with Down syndrome as they supposedly shared characteristics of the "Mongoloid" - people from Mongolia, China, and Japan.
