Ladies and Gentlemen it's once again been an absolute pleasure to come to Warrnambool today and being able to talk to local residents and owners about the issues that are prevalent here as they are throughout the state.

One of the top issues I have learnt today that effects residents here is roads, Warrnambool has some of the highest traffic volumes outside of Melbourne and Geelong and yet the roads here are not even close to the state of maintenance we see in those key centers of the state. For so long highways in rural areas, the roadmap of the country have been ignored and the delays these cause to essential services like transporting food and freight around the country is immeasurable, we need a comprehensive improvement of those roads, especially around Warrnambool and if I am once again given the honor of representing the people of Nicholls, I will be pushing whichever government is in power to give addition funding to improving our highway networks, which more than even in these times of global pandemic are vital infrastructure to Australia.

Tomorrow the people of Nicholls will once again go to the polls, we have one of the largest fields of candidates in the history of elections and I can certainly sympathise with people who are still confused and undecided about their choice in this election. I hope that I have done enough to earn your trust to once again be the member for Nicholls. We must ask ourselves what we see for the future of this electorate, the electorate I believe is the greatest in the country. Do we want to entrust the future of this electorate to those who only live and stand in parliament to satisfy their own egos like the leaders of the National Party? Do we want to entrust our electorate to people who have no clear plan of what they intend to do for people in this electorate such as those in the Liberal Party. Do we want to trust someone who stands for election for one party and one party's set of ideals, only to change some of those ideals in the middle of the term, showing a lack of respect for the electorate that trusted them like the Green Left party? Or do we believe, like I believe that when you give your commitment to stand, to put your hand up and ask to be given the honor of representing the people of Nicholls, your words, your actions should be your bond? I have never claimed to be anything but honest to the people of Nicholls. When I have made the commitment to stand, to represent the people of Nicholls, I have only done so to represent them, because that is what a member should do. They are the representative of the people, chosen by the people to get the very best for the people. That is the creed I stand by, it is what I believe in and I hope that I have convinced you to join me in that creed. Tomorrow more than any other election will shape where the direction of Nicholls heads. Whatever the result tomorrow, whether it be good or bad for me personally. I believe that the people of Nicholls will make the right choice.
