Next on the agenda for the minister was visiting Cairns to hand out pamphlets that outlined his key promises for the electorate, that were designed to save lives and promote quality of life in the electorate. They included the proposed Bradfield scheme and supporting the mining industry, which were mentioned previously in the campaign. At his rally outside the council chambers, the main focus today were announcing policies addressing the fires and other policies promoting financial security for middle to low income earners. Ash also talked more about the SDP candidate, SocialistAcid and his plan for the electorate.
“Hello Everyone, I’m delighted to be at beautiful tropical Cairns today, It is certainly a relief from the dry weather plaguing South East Queensland at the moment. My support goes out to all the firefighters, tirelessly battling the intense fires that are threatening, farms, towns, major cities and displacing many people from their towns and families, we are truly fortunate, celebrating the holiday season with a peace of mind, rather than spending the season without a home and a family. I certainly believe the lack of backburning last year had led to the high intensity of the fires. The inept Labor party and their ally, the greens have imposed harsh restrictions on backburning, vote for Deb at the next election. Unfortunately there is nothing that the federal government can do about it, as it is either a state or council issue, but we will be aiding the Rural Fire Service of Queensland, with an additional $15 million to aid them in times of crisis like this, despite which side of the fence you are on, can we all agree that this funding is well needed.”
“This electorate is predominantly a middle income earning electorate, we are after all the industrial backbone of the country, as we specialise in the crop production and mining, amongst many other industries. We know there are many doing it tough, people and families are struggling to make ends meet and cope with the increasing cost of living. That’s why if re-elected by the people again, a Liberal-National government is dedicated to bringing forward tax cuts to low and middle income earners by 2-2.5% in our next budget and will cut the fuel excise in the wake of skyrocketing oil prices, which is becoming more and more of a struggle for everyday families. The government will also increase the Commonwealth Rent Assistance by 40% for the maximum rate offered to minimise weekly costings for many families.
A Liberal government is also committed to bringing back our public health sector that the SDP essentially have neutered in their flawed budget. The Labor Party and the SDP were simply playing politics last terms without consideration for the people after rejecting our last budget that would bring the country back in order. It's time for the country to get back in shape, it's time for a Liberal-National majority government!.
Vote #1 Liberal Party.
