i was contacted today in regards to a charge being processed against me involving “using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence”. My ex partner has recently placed an civil court intervention order on me after an altercation on the town one night. She has aggressed a situation resulting in myself and my partner being assaulted by her physically. i later made contact online with her out of pure emotion as she almost ruined my perfect relationship out of jealousy. she has dramatically increased the depth of what was said and has clearly fabricated more then i actually said. anyways i was directed by a SC to attend the station and give my interview. i had basically agreed to saying some of the things out of emotions, but i also entailed the full story of abuse, bullying and harassment she inflicted on me over the after math of our relationship ending. some of the things she said genuinely made the police officers show me empathy for my experience, they had told me it’s up to the Sargent to determine if there is enough evidence to press these charges and take it to court, and the officer also insinuated that with the story i have/proof/evidence, it’s likely for me to get away with no consequences even if i plea guilty. i am just stressing out about probability at this point, is there indications or factors that could result in this being dropped? what are the chances of me being charged, and lastly is the situation still considered under this act if the prosecutor has physically assaulted the accused? do the police take into consideration that the physical assault could result in emotional responses/messages?, this was also the first time the police had heard abt the assault, she has lied fully about the entire situation, aggressing and assaulting. please help me i have too much anxiety for this 😭
