Species: Dog
Age: 7 or 8?
Sex/Neuter status: F/S
Breed: Beagle
Body weight: 18 lbs
History: No history of infection since I adopted her April 29, 2014. No diagnosed illnesses. Had a dental in February with 6 teeth extractions and a gingival mass removed as well as a lipoma near her umbilicus. Meds were week's course of oral meloxicam and oral clavamox. Diet is Purina EN.
Clinical signs: Every now and then (probably once ever few weeksish), she will vomit. Occasionally, I will see a cause for the vomit, such as foreign bodies. However, randomly, the vomit will literally just be foamy yellowy liquid. I can't quite figure out why it happens. It happens randomly. When it happens, I usually fast her for 12 hours, give her 1/4 cup after 12 hours, and return to normal diet the next day and she will be fine until the next time it happens. She doesn't show signs of illness like lethargy/depression. Past couple of days, stool has been softer than usual. Soft stools happen to her randomly as well and may or may not coincide with the vomiting.
Duration: On and off over the past few months.
Your general location: Georgia
I am wondering if I should pursue additional diagnostics. I am concerned she has IBD or something. I realize the only way to get a diagnosis of that is GI biopsy. I haven't learned too much about GI illness in school yet (2nd year vet student) so I thought I would ask you guys
