We hear a lot about how there are many people at all levels of government who think that climate change is a myth, that it is not influenced by man, etc. However, there seems to be an overwhelming stance with academic scientists that climate change is happening and is affected by man. We talk about it all the time, see this /r/news post.
Does this happen in other areas of science? Does it happen in economics? The social sciences? Medicine, etc. etc.
