Redditors who attended school in a small town (I.e. 1,000 people or less), what was it like?

Grew up in a small town 2k people. Everyone knew who you are and had a real community. It was great. Moved to a major city at 22 and no one knew you or gave a thought to you. Real life changer. Was much happier back in the day.
