Why do psychiatrists prescribe medication for anxiety and depression (SSRI’s) and then expect you to continue to suffer for weeks to see if there’s any positive results without prescribing medication that will treat the symptoms in the interim?
Post Body

Why would you prescribe an ssri which you know will take weeks to months to yield any relief or possibly no relief from your symptoms without treating the symptoms with a faster acting medicine in the interim? Where’s the logic in that “oh yeah here take this medicine continue to suffer and hopefully it will work for you next month if not I’ll prescribe another medication for you that’ll also take a month to yield symptom relief. Until then just suffer make sure you pay on your way out and I’ll schedule another appointment in a week so you can pay me again for absolutely nothing “
