Hi everyone, I enjoy taking pictures when I go on holiday, and take almost exclusively black and white pictures. Often, when I show them to people, they say I should try and sell them. For the longest time I doubted it because I'm not even close to professional but enough people have said it now that I'm thinking the idea has merit. The problem is, for me it's just a hobby, and my job takes up far too much time for me to properly catalogue the pictures, tag them, then find the media I want to use to print them on etc.
I was just wondering what the path of least resistance is when it comes to selling photos? Are their companies to whom you can give the pictures and they do all the legwork? Of course they'd take a huge cut I'm sure, but to be honest that wouldn't bother me in the slightest because it wouldn't be my main source of income - it would just be really nice to know people are buying my pictures! Is there anything like that out there? Or is this nothing more than a pipe dream? Any info would be very gratefully received - thanks!
Thanks for this - I wasn't sure what a zine was but having looked it up, I really like the idea of it 😊
haha that's a good point - they always just say I should sell them but don't offer to buy! Clearly this is a complete non-starter. Thanks for the info :)
Thanks for the tips and I'm definitely not at the end of the journey yet. A gallery display would be brilliant, so I'll keep working on my craft and see what comes of it. If nothing, then so be it. Like you, it's not my main aim in life, I'm not a pro, it would just be a wonderful blessing 😊
I shall keep practising 🙂 thanks for the feedback!
Yeah definitely spur of the moment buys, but I tend to get mine online which is where I was thinking of putting mine, but clearly from the replies it's a no-go!
Here are the ones I'd say are my best:

Thanks for the reply, and brutal honesty is definitely what I was after. Ah well, it's still nice to know people can appreciate my work! Thanks again.
