The bolt connecting the break line to the cylinder is stripped any idea of to replace the cylinder? (Or if you think it doesn't need replacing: breaks were engaging when starting to drive but not in reverse. Stopped engaging once we got through initially breaking them free to drive. Loosening the shoes helped but the issue came back (but not as extreme... Was shaking the whole van with mo movement the first time ) breaks had been squeeking for a couple of weeks, the breaks not disengaging happened all at once- it seems to only be an issue when the van had been turned off. If we put it in park after driving then go to drive again there was occasionally very light resistance but nothing compared to when freshly starting the van).
Thanks!
94 Chevy g30 5.7 liter ~170,000 miles. Currently changing the shoes and figuring might as well change cylinders too but if that doesn't seem necessary that would be amazing. Looks like the cylinder is pretty old. There was some more viscous fluid on the cylinders when I lifted the rubber dirt blockers, but wasn't anything extreme. I was worried it may be leaking but it could have been from spraying brake cleaner? Idk it was a darker color, almost looked like lubricant.
