For 35 years I did extra work outside the scope of my 9-5 responsibilities and was paid overtime to do so. The work would disturb the rest of the employees if done 9-5. It was not a weekly thing. It was sporadic but when work was needed to be done the project would require 5-6 days in a row and 4-5 hours a night, 1 -3 weeks at a time. Think wall construction, painting , carpentry ect. My company was recently acquired by another and they have a strict no overtime policy. Now they are asking me to continue these responsibilities but just incorporate it into my 9-5 hours. They are offering me no additional compensation/ bump to my salary.
