Switching a small solenoid with a 2n2222a
Post Body
So I have a BJT as a low-side switch for a 12 v solenoid, rated supposedly at 300mA.
I'm using an ESP32 gpio pin to the Base, with a 330 ohm resistor.
If I cycle the solenoid rapidly a few times, my transistor begins to get hot.
I can increase the time between firings and all is well, but why is my BJT getting hot?
Note that I have no resistors on collector or emitter at the moment. Unless that solenoid is pulling way more than 300mA, I'm not sure what gives?
