I (24M,6’1,165) have a neuromuscular disorder called Friedreich’s Ataxia. Along with plenty of other things, it is affecting my ability to masturbate. I have not had an orgasm or a conscious ejaculation in 2–3 years. I am currently seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist who is suggesting a variety of exercises and toys, but the toys are expensive and the exercises don’t seem to be helping much.

Living in a rural area of Pennsylvania, there are not “safe” escort services available. I have heard of other countries having medically assisted masturbation programs, but none in the US.

Would it be inappropriate to ask a medical professional to directly assist me with masturbation? How best would I broach the subject? Or do you know of other programs that may help?
