Post Body

Hi, friends.

Background: 27, 5'4", 230 lbs, female

Current medications: Benezapril, Xanax, Adderall, Seroquel XR, Norco, Lyrica, Claritin (after stopping Xyzol), Cymbalta, Methocarbanol.

PNR: Ubrelvy, Sumatriptan

Other: Epipen, Nexplanon (birth control implant), botox treatment for chronic migraines

History: full anaphylaxis response to lobster at age 21 (no prior food allergy response), partial anaphylaxis response to bee stings at age 13 (mouth and throat swelled along with the targeted area), mucus membrane rashes in response to multiple medications. Eye swelling and hives from cat dander and contact with those areas.

Where I'm confused: I was sent to an allergy specialist because I was having constant swelling and pain under my eyes with a rash despite being on eyedrops and an allergy medication. They tried to do a scratch test and I did adhere to the pre-care standards (no allergy medications fof 5 days prior), but my skin wasn't reacting enough. They said that one of my other medications must be suppressing the allergic reaction, so they did a blood panel for allergens.

What came back doesn't make sense. It says that I have no food allergies (despite my experience with lobster), no stinging insect allergies (despite bee sting), but what's most confusing are the environmental allergens I tested fairly high with including dogs.

I have a service dog who has fur, not hair who is mostly restricted to my room and the two yards due to our living situation and my overall health.

The doctor said I should continue daily allergy medications, keep an epi-pen on hand just in case due to my history, and that I can do a trial test with lobster again in office if I want to, but I would rather just avoid it since I tend to avoid seafood in general, but...

Why would I have such a severe reaction to it that time but not show it in the blood panel and why should I be showing more signs of allergy with Mt service dog but don't?
