Recurring fever UO
Post Body

39M, 5’4, 130 lbs, live in Florida. Have smoked on and off for 10 years ( less than pack a day).

Over the last 6 weeks, I’ve had a fever that comes and goes about 1 week apart. The fever starts and quickly elevates (getting as high as 105), lasts for 3-4 days then goes away for 3-4 days before returning. I’m on the sixth cycle of fever now.

I have been to ER, I have had all blood tests done and a CT scan of my abdomen (tomorrow one of my chest). Although there was some anemia (low RBC) and urobiligen in my urine, it was not at a crazy abnormal level. Follow up blood work did not show any of these markers. Ct scan showed enlarged spleen and trace pleural effusion at the base on my lungs (prompting chest CT scan tomorrow). Lymph nodes are slightly enlarged but painless. Along with fever is body aches /weakness, to the point that when the fever is present I can barely get up.

I have not traveled internationally in the last year (based in U.S.).
