I have noticed one thing about Russia while scrolling through VK, the ungodly amount of teenagers/young people studying Music and Musical instruments like Violin. I surfed through lots of Ensembles, Music schools and even universities where people study music.
I come from a country where Music is only hobby/side gig and nobody studies it as a main subject. I wonder what career prospects they have after graduation? There has to be some reason other than simple passion. If I'm not mistaken, Musicians/Violinists are paid the minimum wage for each performance. Albeit I don't think one could live solely on it, especially in Moscow/St. Petersburg.
