My beef with the Homo naledi docu on Netflix “Unknown: cave of bones”
Post Body

I’m not an archaeologist but there were a lot of things that bothered me about their assumptions;

The theory that they brought their dead through that cave is far fetched, for its is way too technical to bring a dead body through. Dead bodies are reportedly very unwieldy in complex transportation.

Would their not be scorch marks all over the walls (even after 250,000y) ? Since they supposedly used fire to light the way.

When Berger finds the fire pit and the bone fragments the size of quarters and he automatically dubs it a deer like animal (why didn’t they DNA test it and let the viewer know if true) I also find it hard to believe that a professional can look at a fragment of bone and make an assessment like that but that’s what y’all do so it makes a little sense

Lastly, the hash mark theory. There seemed to be many marks like that all throughout portions of the cave (which they didn’t really show directly)

The impression from the docu was more “matter of fact” than “mystery to find out” for me and it was interesting but I want to ask the professionals from the project the above questions!
