Help needed, asking for a friend: photo developed with black bars
Post Body

Here's what my friend would like to ask:

Hi all, so I got my first roll of (new) film taken in my dad's Canon AE-1P in 20 years developed, and safe to say it didn't quite go to plan... 80% of images had varying degrees of blackout in them (two examples attached). The ones that came out intact are mostly the ones taken in low light with longer exposure times (like 1/125 or longer, e.g. the one of 101 Collins St), but there was also one taken in broad daylight with 1/500 and f/11 (the vertical one).

Any ideas on what went wrong and/or what I need to do? Google seems to be suggesting it's a shutter curtain issue and lubrication might fix it... Thank you!

Film: Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400
