Can the light from a welding machine damage something in the camera? I was wondering since it can damage the eyes..

Lasers during show going through certain lenses can burn silicium, but those last years most brands have made low pass filters able to handle those. On film you could see the burn in the gelatin.

Welders definitely aren't damaging anything but your eyes

If you start damaging your camera your eyes are already damaged, it's not a warning, it's the truth
