I've been waiting to buy a Ryzen based gaming / VR / media production laptop since 2017, but continue to see them gimped by sub-par GPUs.
As an Oculus Rift and Samsung Odyssey owner, GeForce 1070 GTX desktop (from 2016) performance is the minimum I'm comfortable with (I'd prefer better than GTX 1080), and I've yet to see that bar reached. The RTX 2060 is the highest I've seen, and the laptop version is roughly 15% slower than the GPU from three years ago.
Has anyone seen a current (or even previous gen) R7 or R5 laptop being sold with something better than the mid-range rubbish for VR and demanding users (ideally 2070 performance or better. I don't care if AMD or NVIDIA if the performance is there with reasonable power draw)?
Kinda wonder if AMD should just go first party on a high end laptop since the 3rd party manufacturers sure as hell aren't doing it.
