Post Body

I see a lot of complaints about wanting to quit, being fed up. All experiences are valid and I'm sharing mine in hopes to maybe brighten up some perspectives/give advice surrounding Flex.

SCROLL TO THE VERY BOTTOM TO SEE MY STATS

I started on April 3rd, not even a whole month yet. The first weeks were hard. Getting acclimated and use to running around, waking up at various times, getting addicted to checking for blocks and so on were pretty annoying at first. But I constantly reminded myself that I'm an independent contractor and work for myself. That attitude has helped me a lot.

I'm usually tired, but remember that we don't have managers, general managers, or executives to answer to (unless you obviously violate the contract). This is a huge benefit, especially when I had to answer to others for 10 years at various jobs. If I want today off, I take today off. If I want a vacation, I take the damn vacation and that within itself is a blessing. No one can cut my hours and thank gosh. And have ya'll seen the way the warehouse workers are treated? They rude to you cause someone is rude to them and sometimes it's soooo obvious. It's like, "Sucks to be you, I guess!"

The job itself is super easy and it pays off if you keep at it and take advantage of the benefits given to you (by benefits I mean those rewards). It should be a given that Amazon should pay everyone fair and square and that everyone should have equal opportunities, but they don't. Therefore you must take advantage when you can. I never miss a high paying block when I can and if there are NO high paying blocks, you take 3/3.5/4 hr base pay, IF you actually want to fill the gap when you don't get surge pay. I get lucky about 40% of the time and get a paid discharge because there are just that many drivers who show up on slow days (usually 40-50). And those requests are actually starting to work so ya'll better not give up on those! Put them in! After putting in like 20 requests I have finally started to get some.

Be safe out there! I made myself a bage identifyng my affiliation with Flex (Just the Amazon Flex Logo and my name) and I bought my own safety vest with tons of pockets to keep my stuff secure. I always take my knife with me, you don't know when you will need it and you don't take chances. I never want to harm an animal or a human, but if I get attacked viciously by either, you have to do what you have to do to protect yourself. Unless someone shows up with a pewpew. The best option is to do this during light hours. Early morning is okay, but I never go before like 5 and I never stay out past 10 (the sun sets later now at about 8:30, soon it will set at 9) so I feel a lot safer being out at night vs earlier in the winter.

Lastly, my overall stats. So far, I have worked 10 Blocks Total Income as of 04/22: $1, 019 and this weekend (Fri-Monday) I am scheduled for 6 (all surge pay, all 3 hr blocks) for an additional $500 but I won't include those in my calc. since I haven't completed them yet.

Total Mileage: 1029 Miles = $0.99 Cents per mile. Avg CDL brings in between 0.40-0.78 cents per mile.

This number is likely going to continue to grow as they offer me surge pay reward blocks. My end goal is to get to $1.50 per mile, which would be great.

May the universe bring ya'll the bag 🔥🌟
